Text and image widgets not staying in sidebar
-
Hello, I hate to ask another simple widget question, but have searched all over the forum for the answer. According to instructions I am installing these 2 widgets correctly. But after I drag them over, type in the text and upload the photo, hit save under the widget, I go to my page and they are not there. I go back into appearance-> widgets, and they are back over on the left again. I’ve looked for an overall “save” button, beyond the save on each widget, but do not see that.
But… here’s the part that may be the problem. When I initially went into appearance-> widgets the text and image widgets were in the “Inactive widgets” section at the bottom. I figured if I could not use them I would not be able to drag them, but I could. But maybe with my theme “modularity lite” these 2 widgets are unavailable?
Any ideas on how to get a simple text and image widget over on my sidebar would be so appreciated.
Thank you.

There’s no such thing as unavailable widgets: you can use all the widgets you can see in acailable or Inactive.
If you’re talking about the “Flawless Lashes is conveniently located” etc text, and the “front-and-sign-color” image, your widgets are there alright, at the bottom of your blog: you’ve added them to the footer instead of the sidebar. So you just need to open the footer widget areas and drag the widgets from there to sidebar.
Also note that your image is 360px wide, and that’s wider than the sidebar of the theme (310px): in bad browser versions it might display incorrectly or break the theme. You need to downsize it in an image editing application to a 310px (or narrower) then re-upload it etc.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! hehe!
Oh my gosh, yes… duh. Footer. For some reason I thought I had to put each widget in one box. I scooted them to the sidebar, and it’s fixed. You are great.Ok, any chance of me being able to break up that text in the side bar with a little bold or spacing? Probably not without any HTML experience, correct?

You’re welcome!
If you open the Text widget, tick the option “Automatically add paragraphs” and click Save, the widget will display the paragraph breaks you’ve entered.
For bold text you use this:
<strong>BOLD HERE</strong>For more elaborate formatting you can consult my relevant posts:

Beautiful! That fixed it, what a difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. I am going to check out your posts for more formatting help, as I could use some extra guidance with that.Have a fantastic day.

Same to you!
Note: if you ever use more elaborate coding, the auto-paragraph option must be deactivated.
