Text and media within same block

I am trying to widen the text boxes which are alongside media images. This is to get more words i.e. longer lines of text, next to the media images, within the same block. The text consists of poems and I am trying to get the lines the same length as in the original poems and at the moment the lines are very short. I can enlarge the media image but not the text box.

    Thanks very much for reply.
That is what I am using – Media and Text Block. I can see how to widen the media image within the block, but that just makes the text narrower. I can’t see how to widen the whole block (specifically the text) and there is plenty of room to the right of the block.
In those instructions you sent me there is one part of the Text and Media Block options that says:
‘Toggle the block between a wide-width display and a full-width display (if supported by your site’s theme.) If I could find out how to do that I wonder if that would work?

  • Ah, the particular theme you’re using doesn’t support any expanded widths, so it’s already as wide as it could be.

You’d need a newer theme that supports expanded widths, like https://wordpress.com/theme/twentytwentyone

Thanks again. However I still can’t see how to make the text lines longer and it is now all in boxes and I think I prefer the old theme, with the size of the font, no black lines around the text etc! I don’t actually know the name of the old theme though and Autosave won’t take me back to it. How do I change back from the Twenty Twenty One theme to the previous theme?

I’ve worked out how to change the Theme – amazingly easy. I am now on Twenty Twelve as that has very pale lines around the text. However on that Theme is it possible to centre the website title and the top menu? Thanks again.

  • Hi there,

How do I change back from the Twenty Twenty One theme to the previous theme?

Your previous theme was Penscratch if you had a desire to use it again.

However on that Theme is it possible to centre the website title and the top menu? Thanks again.

It is possible to do this, but it requires CSS via the Premium or Business Paid Plans:

    http://wordpress.com/plans

If you decide to purchase one of those paid plans, let us know, and we’d be happy to provide you a snippet to center the title and menu.

Our support page on SEO will help you with ways to optimize your site, including via keywords:

    https://wordpress.com/support/seo/

In general, you want to include keywords into your post titles, headings, content, and URL slugs.

    Hope this helps.
