Text box

I cannot figure out how to set a specific length for the text box in each of my posts. My posts are many paragraphs long, and the longer they are, the longer the “edit post” page is, the further down the “add tags” options and “categories” are etc. I want to make it so that I don’t have to scroll down in the program window, so that instead I scroll down through the text box. I have been able to set it to so many lines before, or adjust the size of it in the bottom right hand corner, but every time I save/update/refresh the post, it goes right back to being hundreds of lines long, with the options way down at the bottom. Please help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

Being able to resize the text box via its bottom right hand corner is a browser (instead of WordPress) feature. Doing that only apply to the current tab, I think, so when your tab refreshes (after saving a post, for example), the changes don’t apply.

This is probably irrelevant, but have you tried the full screen editing mode? It might give some of the effects you’re looking for.

For older posts, on different blogs, the size of the text box is only so long. I was able to set how many lines it was long, and it was that length for every post every time you started a new post, and when you saved or published it. I know you can resize the whole window, but I’m trying to permanently adjust the length of the post when editing it.
Doing the full screen editing mode will not give me the option of adding tags or categories, and I don’t think it gives me a word count.
