Text box deletes entered code

  I am at a loss here. Not css savvy. I have already successfully added a text widget that contains a button code and links to for another site. Now, I would like to add another one for another site (Etsy mini) but when I enter the text and press Save, the text box magically deletes part of the code and it does not view properly on the blog. I tried it several times to no avail. The theme I am using is Twenty Ten. Does anyone have any tricks to make this work? I am sure I have seen Etsy galleries on other WP blogs (??)

  Not all code is permitted, WordPress.COM strips some code for security reasons. There are some workarounds using giga code also.

  Etsy mini is javascript or flash, can’t remember which. With Etsy typically what has to be done is put up an image of your wares and link that to your Etsy shop.
