text color selection issue

A few weeks ago, after importing an image and inserting it in a New Post, I seemed to have altered the lower menu bar in New Post. Specifically, the text Color option. I used to have the standard colors, and then More (Color) Options, which one was for darker or lighter tone of the selected color, another gave a rainbow spectrum to choose from, and the last one was a grid of multiple colors you could select from. I now have only the standard color grid. Did I do something that can be undone, or did you do some kind of upgrade that’s not compatible with my browser? I use Firefox 28.0

    Hi there,

I have that kind of color grid (only) option too right now, both on my WordPress.com-hosted sites and on my self-hosted WordPress sites.

A while back, WordPress’s engine was updated and one thing that got upgraded is TinyMCE, the WYSIWYG editor-thingie that’s used on the New Post screen. (Reference: http://wordpress.org/news/2014/04/wordpress-3-9-release-candidate/)

I believe this upgrade is what causes the change. It’s nothing that you did. Everyone’s blog gets this change!

I have no idea if it’s even possible to bring the previous color options back, but at least I hope now you know why this happens.
