Text disappeared in Edit
-
Text disappeared in the edit box for all posts, old and new, this morning.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
same here, I had this problems once before but then it resolved itself without me doing anything. I am using chrome by the way. Gonna try another browser to see if that works.

Same here. From the dashboard, drafts are there, but I can’t see the text unless I highlight it. The options across the top of the text box have all but disappeared (only 3 available). And when I attempt to switch from visual to html and back, the text box disappears all together.
WordPress is allowing me to post via wordpress.com -> new post, but there is no html option to post pictures from flickr.
I am using chrome.

I’m using Safari on a mac. I see other similar help requests, so I assume it’s fairly widespread.

@pixelinatarot
Please post an active link strating with http:// to the blog you are experiencing this on. -

Me too. Was okay 10 minutes ago, but now all text and images have disappeared in my old and new posts. Formatting section is completely gone when I go to write a new post.

Hooray! That leaves only pixelinatarot who did not post an active link to the blog he/she is experiencing this on.

How can I get older draft back?
I was almost finished my draft, which was on autosave, when all text disappeared. I had NOT saved by pressing SAVE DRAFT on WordPress. Is there any way to get earlier version of my text ?fosteringdogblog.wordpress.com
I was working on post titled Name game

same problem just now for me!
I think whenever we Save Draft, that draft “goes somewhere”.
I have seen it before – of course by accident so I know not where it is now!!
Any WP support staff reading this?
Is there a way to find “previous drafts”, of the post we are working on in Edit?thejoyofthewrittenword.com

How can I get older draft back?
Try checking the post revisions.

@patriciaann77, I checked the latest post on your blog and I can see the text in the editor without any problems. I use Chrome as my main browser.
For anyone still seeing this problem, can you please try clearing your browser cache and cookies as a first troubleshooting step?
If that doesn’t help, can you indicate you’ve done that and also post your browser, browser version, and which theme you are using? That’s so we can look for a pattern since I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem you described myself so far.

Hello, Happiness Engineer!!
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
After I posted the above comment, I went back to Support:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
From that page I clicked on: “Enable it in your screen options”
Which brought me here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/
Under the screen options tab (top right corner), I “reactivated” the Revisions check box, then scrolled down and found all my drafts!! Woo Hoo!!
I guess I have some cut and pasting to do, to get the whole post to be back to what I want.
So, Thank You, I think I am “ok” for now. However – why did the text disappear in the first place, mine and the people in this discussion thread?
