Text & Image Alignment

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m having some problems with the alignment of the text and photos. I would like the text and photos to both be centered and have highlighted both at the same time and selected centered and yet the photos above the text are not in line with the photo below the text.

    Hi there,

Can you point me to a specific post/images where you are having difficulties?

    Hi,

Our last post on our blog, Let the Tour De France Begin, was where I discovered the problem which you can find here:

    http://nathanandjulia.wordpress.com/blog/

The header photo is aligned on the right side, the 2nd and 3rd images I tried and tried to get side by side and centered and couldn’t. At one point they were at least side by side but just wouldn’t center. Then they somehow changed to one above the other.

We would really like to have things aligned properly…

    Hi there,

When I look at your blog in three different browsers, I see the same results each time:

    http://cl.ly/image/45052a0H0k2t
    and
    http://cl.ly/image/3t1d2k341P3y

The header image appears fine and the images are side by side

When I zoom out, however, or when I view your site on an iPhone, the images do align vertically, because there is not enough space in the center column to display both images:

While the blog is displaying images properly, the responsiveness of the theme is adjusting to the narrower width of certain display windows and showing the images stacked rather than side by side. This prevents the layout from “breaking” when there isn’t sufficient room to display the images.

    Hi,

Even your screen shot link it’s showing them one above the other instead of side by side on this end. I’m using google chrome and tried through firefox as well and got the same result on my new mac book pro. Also in the screen shot you can see that they are not even aligned one above the other. The first image is a bit left of the one below.

The header if aligned on the right side while the text below is aligned to the left. This is incongruent, is there a solution?

These are not huge issues but do affect the overall flow and aesthetic value of the blog. Issues I wouldn’t expect with a purchased template.

Not sure if this will work.

This link shows a screen shot of your screen shot. lol. Still side by side?

    file:///Users/juliamusial/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202013-07-01%20at%2010.43.30%20AM.png

This shows my editing side of the blog and the images are shown side by side while once I transfer out of the editing back end and just view the blog from the front end, it changes.

    Sorry, that last comment’s links won’t work….

    Hi again,

Please note that there are three screenshots. In the first two, the header and images are functioning properly. The third screenshot shows the images are stacked, because the content area is narrower. This is expected behavior. They will be stacked when the width of the content area is not wide enough to display them side by side.

If you view your blog at a different resolution in your browser or on a different computer, you should see the images side by side.
