  Is it possible to put text in the footer as if it were a page in the menu, without having to have a whole page associated with it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If your theme has a footer widget area, you can use a text widget, or multiple text widgets to say what you’d like in the footer area.

  Yes, provided you have the required upgrade you can add to what’s already there. You cannot remove footer credit links. There is no upgrade that provides that ability. Removal of footer credit links is a Terms of Service violation. However it’s possible to add your own text to the footer area using CSS if you have purchased the Custom Design upgrade.
