text into text widget?

  Apologies for being new to this and slow:-) I can’t figure out how to insert text into a text widget??? There seem’s to be no option for doing this – am I missing something?

  Try clicking on the little symbol with the lines within the widget when on the sidebar widget page.

  problem was with safari, there was no symbol to click in the widget box, have started using firefox and now have no problems (there were other problems also resolved by switching to firefox)
