text is too gray
-
I know the “cool” thing these days is to have lightly shaded text. Instead of good readable black, we have light shades of gray. I cannot understand the logic in making a workspace more difficult to read.
Please bring back black text in our editing window so we can actually see what we are typing! Please! At least give us the option to change that setting.
Where’s the logic in reducing the contrast?
Thanks

Hey Ken,
I’ve made our developers aware of your request. You can also add it yourself to our Ideas forum, if you’d like to make your individual voice heard:

If you have trouble seeing the new editor’s text, you can still utilize the classic version. That text will remain black.
Here is a link to the New Post editor:

Thank you Robyn. And happy holidays to you.
I did go back to classic. It also is more washed out than it used to be. I see little difference in contrast.
But thanks,
Ken

Hey Ken!
I have a thought. The text on your actual site is gray, as well. I am wondering if that’s why you’re seeing your text in the editor with low contrast.
In your Classic Editor, with a new post open, click the toggle button to open all your formatting options. If you’re not sure where that button is, check out the image below:
After you click the formatting toggle button, more options will open up. I’ve put a little red star underneath the button to change your text color. Click that. Then opt for black.
Now, click your cursor in the text editor and type. Your text should now be darker.
Let me know how that goes! Thank you and happy holidays!
