Text not displaying correctly: lines missing
-
Hi, I’m just starting my blog. When I add text, I find that there are many blank lines as some paragraph sections are not visible.
I originally copied and pasted the text from a Word document to Notebook, and then into WordPress. I also tried copying directly from Word, but it seemed to make no difference.
I hope it’s just a simple mistake, as I’m a blogging rookie. Please help!
Btw the posts are password protected as this is an early test run. You can use the password BV2014 to look at the Introduction (it’s sticky, so you’ll find it when you land) where there are lots of examples of the problem I am describing.
Cheers.

If you are copying and pasting from a word processing document like Microsoft WORD please read this https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor?replies=3
Blog editors and word processors are not the same and do not work the same way. The web standard is one blank line only, so you cannot add more blank lines by pressing return repeatedly like you would do with a typewriter or in a word processing application. If you want to learn how to format and space your posts and pages see:

See also: http://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/P.S. When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.
