Text not wrapping
-
I’m a newbie to WP, but I’ve been trying to get the text to wrap around the images in my blog (using the instructions to add ‘align=”left”‘ or ‘align=”right”‘ before the last ‘/>’ when I upload an image using the image editor.
The image goes in fine but there’s a huge gap next to the image. I’m using the standard box that shows up when I go to enter a new post. There are no options on that to “align left” or “align right” like you’d see in Word, or another word processing program. All I see at the top are buttons for “b”, “i”, “code”, “link”, etc. Am I doing something wrong?
Is it possible to create my blog posts in another program like Word and cut & paste them over?
Thanks in advance!

Yes . . . I’ve created two (2) posts, so far, but I’m waiting on others to try to get this issue resolved.
Thanks!

Usually with the align commands, you have to type them in manually if you’re using the editor that you mention that you’re using. The rich text editor, the one that’s pictured in the FAQ that you’re mentioning, has an icon. The standard editor does not.
Gotta admit that most of us here use a product called Blogdesk which has built in support for aligning pictures as well as image uploading. You may want to give that a try.
Either that or switch editors to the rich text one. You can do that at Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> Check that box near the top and click on Save Changes. Gotta admit that I’m not a big fan of the editor though. It likes changing stuff on you. It’s TinyMCE if you’re familiar with it.
Hope this helps,

I was about to load Blogdesk but I just realized it’s made for Windows. What do you recommend to support Mac OSX?
Bummer!

Photogator,
i’m also on a Mac, and i checked around MacUpdate and VersionTracker to see what was out there: not much. I am perfectly happy with the rich text editor provided on WordPress (it hasn’t moved anything for me yet). Make sure you use Firefox, though, because i have seen reports that Safari doesn’t like it.

If you use the visual editor for this you’ll have a lot more options. You can set margins, alignment, size, all in one pop-up box.
