Text size/style formatting option disappears. PLEASE, PEASE STOP MAKING CHANGES!

  I pasted some text from a source and it came in rather large and colorful. So, as I usually do, I went to click on the little box for inserting text as text only. It’s gone. Then I did my usual back-up, which is to go to the drop down menu with text styles and choose “paragraph”. It’s gone, too. Finally, I discovered that was because I was in the “new and improved” mode. But I have to go into the “new and improved mode” because it has an option to select a featured image, and that was taken out of the “classic mode”.

  Nowadays I use both the classic and the new mode in order to do what I used to do with just the old version. I do much, much more clicking and scrolling, and I need to be familiar with where the buttons are in each format, because both NOW are incomplete. Meanwhile neither has a full screen option anymore. What it has is merely a “distraction free” option that doesn’t give any extra space to work in. So, gotta’ do a lot more scrolling.

  If only there were the option of having it the way it was a year ago, and leaving it that way. And if only the new and improved version would just be rolled out all at once, and optional, and suggested for mobile device users. Ah, everything would be so much easier.

  Today I did a rather long and convoluted post, which was made much more difficult by not being able to find buttons anymore, buttons moving, and having to negotiate between multiple incomplete editing modes. Why can’t distraction free editing have a button to insert media?

  Anyway, so, in the new and improved version, are we not able to change font sizes or styles as part of the exmpanded capacities of newness, or is that just a glitch?

  Me, I dunno’ nothin’. I’m lost.

  I just double-checked the feature-set in both the classic and current editors.

  The full-screen mode is indeed gone from the classic mode; however, the ability to set the feature image is still there (it’s below the Tags module to the right, though you’ll have to scroll to get to it).

  The new editor has both the paragraph and paste as text options on the bottom of the toolbar, much like the classic mode.

  I’m not sure what’s going on with your editors, though with the frenetic pace of the interface changes lately, I wouldn’t be surprised if I were find changes if I were to check the editors later today.

  I just went and checked, and really, there’s no button for inserting as text for for text styles (headers, paragraph…). I’m I missing it. Here’s a screenshot.

  Also the “featured image” option really is gone, because it used to be where you say it is. It’s not there anymore.

  You’re right: there’s something horribly amiss here. The entire bottom row of formatting options is missing.

  Oddly, I still have the featured images in the classic editor and the 2nd row in the new editor, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
