Text Spacing

When I paste text from Word into a WordPress page (using the Text editor), the text is double spaced? How can I make the text single spaced? (see, for instance, ABOUT and TALKS on my blog to get a sense of what I mean).

    Hi there,

All of the advanced word processors are fantastic when it comes to their flexibility in creating documents, but they also generate a lot of what is called “garbage code” in order to create that appearance. Basically when you copy and paste that content from Word in to WordPress, all of the code which Word uses to make it look that way comes with it in to WordPress, and the code is not always (in fact it is not usually) compatible with website builders like WordPress uses.

There is a solution though! We have a way in which you can remove all of that formatting without losing your content with just a click of a button. You will need to go in and re-format any decorations such as bold, italics, etc; but at least your site will work correctly!

Here’s some information on how to get your content in to WordPress.com correctly:
