Text Spacing Is Erratic

Okay. My first blog. http://savvyspirit.wordpress.com/ I’m expecting an issue or two. But this is unnerving.
My first attempt shows the text spacing to be erratic. It looks completely terrible on the home page. When I click the link “Morning Blog” and access the same post that way, it looks better, but it’s still wacky as it wraps an image.
Shouldn’t this be, at the very least, consistent?
What’s the fix?

The format for your first post is not “paragraph.”
Open that post in the editor, select everything in that post and the on the left end of the lower tool bar select “paragraph” from the format pulldown. Then click “update post” and that will fix it. You shouldn’t have to do that again, but keep it in mind just in case it should happen again.

AHA! Thanks SacredPath. This experience will likely get more and more interesting. I actually design web sites from scratch. But this is another beasty altogether. Looks like I should be moving on to plumbing . . .

I develop web sites too and there isn’t a day goes buy I don’t think I should move on to plumbing or working at the sewer treatment plant.
Basically all the paragraphs and such in your post were surrounded by div tags instead of p tags, so there was virtually no formatting being added. Most likely it won’t happen again, but do not copy and paste from any program (except a plain text editor) or from the web as that can bring in formatting and inline CSS that can mess things up. In the lower row of toolbars is a “paste as plain text” button that will strip out all the code. Use that if you paste anything from the web.
