Text too wide

  Hi,
  I use the NeoSapiens theme (http://dcetdailleurs.wordpress.com) and I have some trouble preventing the text to be wider than the column. I tried several themes and the result is the same. It is not linked to the pictures I may use, as I encounter this probleme even with posts without picture. Does anybody know how to fix this ? Thanks.

  What browser and version and operating system are you using?

  Windows Vista and Opera 9.24 or IE

  Opera can be a problem since it is not fully compatible with the TinyMCE editor used by wordpress for writing posts and pages.

  Do you by chance copy from MS Word?

  No I don’t use MS Word (for anything). I used to type in directly my posts. I tried to modify existing posts with IE but it did not solve the problem. Thanks for your help so far!

  Try this: open one of the post with the messed up text in IE like you are going to edit it. Go to the code view and select all the text in the window and copy it to the clipboard. Then delete all the text. Go to the advanced toolbar in the editor (click on the icon at the right end with the rows of dots). In about the middle of that second row you will see a page looking icon with a “T” on it. Click on that icon and a window will pop up. Paste the text into that window and press “insert” and see if that will solve the problem. By using that icon to paste the text, it will strip out all coding that might happen to be in the post as it inserts it.

  Excellent! It works perfectly. It even improves the text wrapping around the picture! Thanks a lot.
  So now I have to type my posts with IE. And report this behavior to Opera developpers I guess. Thanks again.

  Glad that worked for you. It’s not Opera, it’s TinyMCE, the people who make the editor used by wordpress. TinyMCE is also not compatible with Safari (mac).

  IE7 is pretty good, but it still has a few issues here and there. The most stable when it comes to wordpress is Firefox, but IE should work pretty well for you.
