Text under a pic

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I just installed my 1st wp today, can’t figure out how to make a layout of a post so that first will be a picture on top left side, and underneath on a distance of an extra empty line will be the text itself.
I see that other blogs have even smaller picture on top left, and the text underneath it.
When I try to place a pic on the left and write something underneath, the text appeares to the right of the pic, even the tags.
When I try to create a new field, everything I write in it is somehow invisible.
What should I do to get a picture on left and the text underneath it? When I try to do it the text appeares to the right of the pic.
    Please help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You should set the image alignment to None, not Left.

    It worked! :) Thank you!
BUT I still can’t get an empty line distance between the picture and the text. Do you know how I can get one?

I’d be pleased to try and help you if you will please post a link so I can see exactly what you mean.

Timethief, thank you for your reply!
The thing is that the blog I am looking at has adult images in it, so, I don’t think it will be appropriate to place a link here.
But at this point the only thing that is not clear is how to get a one line empty distance between a picture and a text underneath it?
When I type a text it appeares directly under an image, even if I press Enter in the editor. I simply want to have an empty line between an image and a text under it.
    Thank you.

One way to do it: visual post editor > click on image, click mountain icon, click Advanced Settings, add number in “Vertical Space” box (one line should be around 12), click Update, click Update Post.

Faster way is changing the code in the html post editor, if you are familiar with html. One possibility here:

Formatting text pt. 1: blank lines, alignment, wrap-around, two columns

Thank you so much for your reply!
    You’re right it worked!
Now I am trying to upload some theme to the server, and it doesn’t go through, so, I followed a suggestion I found online and zipped the folder with the theme but now I cant unzip (or unrar it when it’s there :)
I use Total Commander and WS Pro for FTP client.
Would you recommend what to do please?
    Thank you.

    @kesha1
Apparently you are not asking about this blog linked to your name:
    http://kesha1.wordpress.com/

WordPress.com blogs have to access to FTP, nor can we upload blogs from the internet.

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Independently hosted blogs can get help here:
    http://wordpress.org/support/

    Oh! I see!
Just 1 more question, if I may: how can I save my blog (its database)? What file or folder contains it?
    Thank you.

You cannot get support for a wordpess.org blog here. The two run on dfifferent software. this is your support forum form now on please use it http://wordpres.org/support

    Gak tohse typos:

“WordPress.com blogs have to access to FTP, “

should say “WordPress.com blogs have NO to access to FTP,…”
