text widget a mystery

I’m just getting set up here – sleightmind.wordpress.com – I moved some widgets into my sidebar. The topmost one is a text widget. I cannot find any way to actually get something into it. Does this really have to be such a mystery? There’s no edit button, or whatever, that I can find. Would appreciate any help you can give.

to edit a text widget, click on the square thing with lines on it at the right side of the widget. it should upon up a box for you to insert the text.

previously there have been some problems in editing the text widget. if you have clicked on the square box at the right side of the widget and it still does not open up a box, you could try a different browser. sometimes using different browser helps. firefox works best with wordpress.

if all else fails, you could send in feedback.

Thanks! It worked. It’s a bit nuts, though. Shades of “mystery meat navigation” – as in “can YOU find the button on this page?” And “can YOU guess what this button does”. Bad design.
