Text Widget – Can I use HTML (UTube)
-
Can I use html in text widget? Trying to get a sidebar video in there?
-
Yes, you can use HTML in the text widget. I guess you can try putting in the YouTube shortcode in there to put a YouTube video.
-
Do realize though that if it has javascript, flash, iframes or forms in the code it will be stripped out here due to security concerns. The reason I mention that is that many people don’t know the difference simply because they aren’t a code monkey.

hmmmm… I don’t know. But I think you can adding it. Sorry my english so bad! linke me= wildascience.wordpress.com

Im trying to get different widgets in there. I just read that i could put the last.fm widget in there. I tried it and it just doesn’t work. But, probably that thesacredpath is right. Im just not a code monkey i guess.

Typically you can check to see what the code is by simply looking through it for words like, script, or javascript, or flash, or <form> or <iframe>. Also, if you see anything that says PHP, that is another type of script and it will be stripped out also.

Why does WordPress not allow YouTube videos and only allows VodPod? You are allowed to use YouTube vids in your posts, so why not in the sidebar too? I really, really dislike Vodpod!

I have been trying to put the facebook link icon on my wordpress blog. I paste in the html into the text widget and all the html shows up in my blog. What am I doing wrong? There’s got to be a way to do this…in fact, I’m curious why wordpress does not have a facebook widget.
