Text widget does not display properly

  Hi,
  I would like to create a widget where the last book I published on Blurb can be seen as a thumbnail which can be clicked to go to Blurb’s website. Therefore I copy and paste html text from Blurb in a text widget but when I save it the code I’ve pasted into the widget is automatically stripped out and the widget doesn’t display. I’ve got the html directly from Blurb where I can choose WordPress for a personal one. It worked some weeks ago with the previous book. I don’t feel comfortable creating my own html.
