Text-Widget does not save my custom html microdata
-
Hello there and thanks in advance for any help!
When I try to use microdata-html for google-rich-snippets in my sidebar-text-widget, it seems wordpress.com is always deleting my microdata-markup (like itemprops). What can I do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com only allows certain HTML tags on the site. This applies to text widgets as well. You can see here which tags are allowed and which not: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

thanks.
Why is wordpress doing this? I see that microformats are OK – whats wrong with microdata? -
It’s because all our blogs run off the same software. If one person uploads corrupted or incorrect code it can potentially take down the entire site. If you have a self-hosted wordpress.org install you can use whatever code you want as you can download the software and then cutomise it the way you want it.
If you think a certain type of code should be added you can suggest it. The doc I linked to contains a link for you to contact support if you want to do that.
