text widget edit missing

  I have a text widget that has no ‘edit’ button so I can’t change it or remove it. All my other widgets have edit buttons but the edit button on this one has disappeared and its stuck there. Any ideas?

  Have you checked both sidebars?
  Have you tried switching themes?
  Does removing other text widgets help?

  I did try all these these things but in the end I just shut down and started up again the next day and a tiny bit of the edit button had reappeared and I could remove the widget. So the cause remains a mystery. Thanks for your help though. It’s much appreciated.

  I noticed that I cannot edit any of my current text widgets either. I try adding a new one, but to no avail. So I cant add new text widgets nor can I edit old ones?

  i have the same problem with my blog… and i have to remove the text but i can’t…

  I have a problem with the text widgets too. I can edit the ones i have already, but however if i add a text widget, and i click the edit button it just dissapears.

  that’s that. i solved.

  i bet that the title of your text widget is big. mine was, the title stayed above the edit link and it disappeared. pass the mouse carefully in the text widget and when the ‘little hand’ appears click fast, and remove or edit you widget.
