Text Widget Editing Problem

Outstanding instructions. Thanks for that! I’m sure a lot of people will find that useful.

Yes, definitely… My IE works well with wordpress but editing text widget is the prob… but my FF won’t work well with wordpress though I can highlight the text in the textbox (i tried it when raincoaster suggested). So, right now I am using Safari.
Still, thanks a lot janie! It is really detailed and well understood. Thumbs up!

after all, that is what blogging is all about… :-) the reason why you are here in the forum is you want to learn and convey your learnings at the same time. :-)

I have sort of the same problem. Except, the edit button is missing within the widget. I can’t edit or remove it.

I hope WP support fixes the Text Widget problem soon. I use IE 6.x and the suggested workarounds aren’t practical so I’ll continue to wait. Nothing terribly urgent but it would be good to have it working again.

Hopefully the IE issues will be fixed, but in the meantime you should have much smoother sailing with Firefox.

Just adding my name to the people having problems seeing half the text box – IE 6.0.
My IT guy (aka hubby) may or may not go for Firefox as a fix – I’m low on hd space. We’ll see if he has time.

Same problem. Unable to edit any text in widget. Currently using IE7. Have not checked this in Firefox, Opera or any other system, but IE7 is definitely not working.

@ toeverygeneration
The entire Mozilla FireFox folder takes up 20MB installed. You cannot be this low coz if you were Windows OS (assuming you’re running Windows) would have problems running properly. All the best!

my existing text widget does NOT have the edit button when i use firefox 2.0.0.14
but when i switch to ie, the button is there, with the same problem as the op. at least i have access to it and edit it.
but switching back to ie is such a hassle
