Text Widget Not Clickable

    When I try to click on the text widget to open and edit(it shows the hand to show its selectable) nothing happens. I have not been able to add any text or images to my text widgets since I first started using wordpress. Do I need a special account or something. I have the free version.

    It’s most likely a browser problem that you are having. Do you know what operating system you have (windows/mac/linux)? Also do you know which browser and version of it that you are using? It would also be helpful if you posted a link to your blog please.

    I’m running xp professional. I use xp 6.xx for a browser.

    I think you must mean Internet Explorer (IE) 6 is your browser. There is a simple way to be sure of that.

    IE version Tip: The method to determine which version of Internet Explorer you are using follows:
    With Internet Explorer open select ‘Help‘ from the top menu bar and click ‘About Internet Explorer‘ from the menu. You will see the version of Internet Explorer displayed in the ‘Version:’ field just beneath the Internet …

    Note that no wordpress.com blog urls contain “www”. The actual url for your blog is http://cordieb.wordpress.com

    Lastly, if you have no other browser that you can try and this is still problematic then you must contact staff for help cordieb.wordpress.com

    Timethief, I meant to put in IE. It’s IE 6.*. I’m old school and still use the www. Although I know it’s not needed for most web pages anymore. Thanks for your reply.

    Are you still unable to work with your widgets? If so please try clearing your cache and cookies and reloading your browser.

    Force Refresh or Reload

    The Cookie Dance
    step 1. log out
    step 2. clear your browser cookie
    step 3. clear your browser cache/temporary internet files
    step 4. close your browser
    step 5. go back and test

    Thanks for your help. I found out by accident that the solution is to close all browser windows except wordpress. For some reason, if I have more than one browser window open the widgets do not work.

    That’s very odd: I havent’ found that to be the case. Are you running a severely limited amount of RAM by chance?
