text widget not saving all of text…

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to add a couple of Google Adsense codes to my blog, called “Mister Peckerhead”.

The problem I’m having is when I SAVE the Text Widget, after I paste the Adsense code to – it deletes some of the text, which appears to be causing my problem with the ad not showing up.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Derek,

That is correct, we do not allow Google AdSense on WordPress.com. If you are interested in monetizing your site, may I suggest checking out our program, WordAds:

Let me know if you have any questions!

I apologize, I meant to send a link to our help article which details our policy on AdSense. Here’s that link:

Thanks for the follow up response!

I started this blog to monetize on it. I didn’t know that WordPress.com didn’t accept bloggers to monetize with Google Adsense. I suppose that is my fault for not researching WordPress enough.

I have no problem using WordAds as my monetized resource, however it doesn’t appear that I will have an opportunity to use WordAds anytime soon. When I applied for WordAds, I received an email that basically said that there are many applications in front of me and they don’t know when they can get to mine. Also, WordAds is clear about not every blog will be approved. I have to have a minimum of medium traffic visiting my blog. I’m not sure how much medium traffic is, but I’m pretty sure that my new blog doesn’t have it yet. Therefore, how am I going to monetize my blog?

I’m probably past my full refund cancellation window with WordPress by a few days. However, I’m not happy that I can’t monetize my blog and would like to ask for an exception on getting my $100 refund – so I can transfer my domain to BlueHost and monetize with Google Adsense. Can you help me?

    Hi Derek,

I can certainly give you a full refund for your WordPress.com Premium package, since it wasn’t used to purchase any domain names. However our 30 day refund period applies to all products EXCEPT domains which only have a 48 hour refund period. Since those domains were purchase about 45 days ago now, I’m afraid I cannot refund them.

What you can do however is point them towards hosting wherever you like via nameservers: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

Then once you’ve owned them for over 60 days, you can transfer them to another registrar by following these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

Let me know if you’d like me to go ahead and cancel and refund the WordPress.com Premium and I’ll get that taken care of for you!

Thank you for your quick responses!

I didn’t want to cancel my domain. I only wanting to transfer or map the domain to a different host that accepts Google Adsense. I guess I need to check other hosting sites, like BlueHost – to confirm they accept Google Adsense.

I like my WordPress.com blog site and hate changing it. I would prefer to stay with WordPress, but I want to monetize my blog. Do you have any pull with WordAds? How can I get WordAds to accept my blog and quickly? I don’t even know what they define medium traffic as.

I’m afraid that it’s not a matter of having any influence with WordAds. They have a queue which they work through in the order in which they receive inquiries. If, as you say, you don’t have much traffic yet then you are correct that you will likely need to build some traffic before your application is approved.

Please let me know if you’d like me to cancel and refund that WordPress.com Premium!

    Hello Amightywp,

I hope you had a nice holiday!

I am all set up on BlueHost & Google Adsense. I would like to cancel my WordPress.com Premium and collect my full refund, as you offered last month.

I switched hosting service, because WordPress wouldn’t let me use Google Adsense to monetize my website and WordPress AdWords is too slow at reviewing my account. Also, I don’t have enough traffic to qualify for AdWords. I’m still using a WordPress template.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Sincerely,

    Derek Smith
