Text widget not working

  Hi,

  After trying numerous times I am at a loss – I’d like to place some html code in my text widget but it is not appearing in my blog page after saving.

  The code links to a public site, Mumsnet, and other bloggers are able to add this code to their blogs with no problems. Please see the code below that I am trying to insert and let me know where/what is going wrong – many thanks:

  The whole code is not display here as you did not place it between backticks. The backtick is found on the key to the immediate left of the number 1 key. It’s on the same key as the tilde ~ but it’s in lower case.

  Thank you for your repose.

  I tried it but the item still doesn’t show up on my blog page. I think it may be because it’s advertising.

  The instructions are for the wordpress.ORG dashboard. probably one or more of those tags in that code won’t work on wordpress.COM.

  I am not sure which is the problem or how to work around it.
  this is the code they give:
