Text widget problem

  Before the last WordPress update where the visual editor feature was added to the text widget I used to be able to put a text widget in my footer widget area. Then in the text widget, I was able to place the code for two affiliate banner ads and they would appear side by side. Now when I do that they always stack on top of each other and make the footer area twice the height that I want. I tried adding <div align=”left”> and or <div align=”right”> which does move them to the correct sides respectively but they are still stacked making the footer area twice as high? How can I fix this? Whats strange is after the update none of the footers changed it’s only when I make a change to the text widget that the start stacking. Here is a page with it like I want:

  I’m hosted on eHost but connected to wordpress.com on Jetpack. So your site has to be hosted by WordPress to use the forum?
