Text Widget won't link to URL
-
blackswanlake.org
I put in a text widget “Black Swan Break In”, and linked it to a new page:
http://blackswanlake.org/burglers-hit-and-miss-in-black-swan/
but when clicked it says “page not found”.I haven’t done this in so long, I seem to have forgotten some missing step!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems like the link in your widget is somehow truncated.

You can also use an image widget for this purpose rather than a text widget.

Hmmm…yes. I thought I’d copied out of the “perma link” window from the page info, but it does look garbled. Instead, I copied the URL from the actual page and pasted that in, and it seems to work, thanks!
As for using a text widget rather than an image widget, I forget why I was told to do that – is it more flexible in some way? Seems like there were some limitations to image widgets. And I seem to be able to accomplish what I need to, using text widgets.
Thanks for your reply!

You’re welcome.
Image widgets are very flexible. All you need are two URLs:
1st the image in the Media Library
2nd the place where you want the image to link to.Check out the Support doc for Image Widget.
