Text Widget Won’t save image link

Add topic to favorites
I am not dumb as dirt but I am feeling like it. I’m moving over from Blogger and know a little HTML’ing. I am trying to put an image in my side bar. I have followed the instructions noted in WordPress, BUT, it does not save. The moment I hit “save” all link is gone, leaving only this: <img> Where’d it go? Am I not saving something correctly? I only see one button that says save, and it’s in the background on the right side with the text box displayed. I don’t want to look like a dinkleberrie but I’ve been trying to get this to save for hours. I use Firefox if that’s a problem. Here’s what I’m trying to post (sans my real picture). I so want to get my blog to kinda resemble my old one. Any and all help can be heaped on ME. Thanks

Post the code here between backticks (`) (the key to the left of the #1 on the north american keyboard) so we can take a look at it. I’m also wondering if blogspot allows hotlinking of images on their site.

Actually, never mind. I think you’re missing a space between the last ” and the / at the end. Here is the copy and paste that I use:

You can delete the alt and title if you wish.

In the alt and title there are. I don’t see it in the URL. I do see a missing opening quotation mark on his example though.

Dang, it works. Hum… dumb as dirt? that was the fastest help ever! The reason I’m leaving Blogger (aka Google); don’t get me started on the 9 days of hacker invasion! Ugh.
