Text won’t fit in my post box
-
Hello I’m having a problem fitting the text for my post in the post box. My post is 733 words, I’ve had that many words before without a problem. I inserted a photo into the box perhaps that’s an issue. I wrote the post over without the photo and still had the same problem. I advanced the writing lines considerably ( under the writing) but that doesn’t seem to correct the issue. could you please advise. The Post is currently check marked as a draft so it’s not up. I would be glad to post it if it would help for you to see what my debacle is. thank you i’ll await your advice.

When you say it won’t fit in, could you explain what happens? Is there an error message? Or are you just unable to type further?

Thank you for the help. No I can post the article, but it views different then my draft. I’m trying to leave spaces between sections of content, but when I “publish” and view it, (visit site) the text squashes together. Especially the paragraphs that fit below the photo. I have the article up maybe if you view it you’ll grasp what I’m trying to say. I’m not sure how to explain my self. For instance, I want the Quotes to have a space between the quote text and the text of the following paragraph, when I write it and review it seems fine fine, but when I publish and view the post, the text is squashed together. Is there a limit to how much room I have in the post box ? thanks

There is no limit to the room you can have in a post (I’ve got one 13000 words long) but it’s probably a code issue. Did you paste it in from Word or email or something? That will add all kinds of extraneous code and mess things up.
To get a space between paragraphs, you normally just hit ENTER. If you hold the Shift key while doing that, you get singlespaces. Check your HTML view and see if your paragraphs are surrounded by
<p> and </p> tags ' or whether they're surrounded by<div> and </div>` tags or whether they just have a br tag at the end. -

Thanks and yes I did paste in some links from the net but not from Word. I wondering if the photo link could have caused a
extraneous code to mess things up?
<img class=”alignright size-medium wp-image-923″ title=”aceves” src=”http://unklesal.wordpress.com/files/2009/02/aceves.jpg?w=230″ alt=”aceves” width=”230″ height=”300″ />Basically the box doesn’t seem big enuff to have the post fit in it. And Yes I have been leaving the spaces with enter.
I may have to start the whole article over it doesn’t seem to want to respond to reason thanks if you have any more thought please lay them on me.. thank you

Pasting from the web can get you in trouble also since many times it brings in code that is not valid here.
One thing you might try is to open the post for edit, select everything in the post, and then click the “remove formatting” button on the lower icon toolbar in the visual editor.

Also while I’m here, go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes” at the bottom of the page. WordPress will then check your post for any incorrect code and correct it automatically when you save or publish.
