Text Won't Wrap Around Images
-
Lately I’ve been having trouble with the “right align,” which usually wraps text around an image in my post nicely. Now, if I type some text, put my cursor at the beginning of the paragraph, and add media, the whole text is shoved under the image and stays there even if I try to align it. If I put the image under text, it moves as I add more text instead of staying where it is.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Also, this happens regardless of the size of the image I’m using.

The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.
Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).
If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.
To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
<div style="clear:both;"></div> -
Yes, I understand that. I’ve used align-right many times before to wrap text around the left side of an image. My problem is that this feature is simply no longer working. I want to know whether anybody else is experiencing this problem.

Thanks, one thing I just tried was inserting the image aligned right to begin with, under “attachment details.” The reason I was still having problems was that the filler text I tried had a particularly long string of filler characters that WP wanted to keep intact on a single line. When I type normal words, I see now that the text continues wrapping. So I think I’ve solved the problem now.

I’m having the same problem. I’m using Win 7, Google Chrome.
If I use paragraph text, the text wraps great. If I use Heading 3 — which is what I want to use, it won’t wrap. I get the first section to wrap and then the rest of the left side of the image is blank and it starts again after the image continues.
I have other posts in Heading 3 and they wrap fine.
The reason I am using Heading 3 is that you can’t see the paragraph text on a light gray background with the font they have.
My page is not public yet. Here is the link:http://dianewalters-writer.com/2014/05/09/penny-necklace-by-kathrine-grey/

Okay. So, the other posts “are” one paragraph. Because I am trying to use a “Heading” it is giving me the space after the first paragraph. Thus, the blank spot next to the image.
Is there anything I can do about that? Or is there anything I can do about the text?

Hey Diane,
Were you able to get this all sorted out? If you’re still having trouble with text/image wrapping, feel free to post here. Otherwise, if you’re having trouble with a different issue, please feel free to open a new thread!

Hey, Jeremey,
Thanks for replying. It’s all sorted. I was trying to text wrap with headlines. As soon as I changed the font and went back to paragraph font, it worked as smooth as butter.
I appreciate you ringing in.
All the best,
Diane -
