Text wrapping when adding images

  • Unknown's avatar

This has only just started to happen, but whenever I insert an image to my blog in between text, the text below it wraps around the image. This happens whether the image is left aligned, centred, right aligned or none. If I simply hit ‘enter’ to knock it back down and then view the post (say on my mobile phone or on another computer, there are large blank spaces between the image and the text below.
Any idea what is going on?

Hi. Do you have a specific example (http://…) of a post where that happens please?

Hi airodyssey, sorry for the late reply.

Here is a link to one of my posts that I have just had to edit (insert updated information and images.

You will see at the top section where I have started to talk to the user about POP Settings etc, that there are large spaces after each image has been inserted.

When I go to edit this, it shows up as normal (in Edit Mode) without showing the huge gaps. The only way I can see this is via looking at the source code in my browser (looking at the html in WP is useless) When I do this I notice that there are multiple <p> </p> after each inserted image. There is no way to edit this?

When I was adding (inserting) my images (left aligned) between lines of text, the cursor would stay to the right of the image, like it was expecting me to add text to the right? What I want is for it to be able to add an image and then the cursor should be placed under the image ready for me to add further text. It was never like this before, which is why I can’t seem to figure out what is going on? It’s really frustrating.

“When I was adding (inserting) my images (left aligned) between lines of text, the cursor would stay to the right of the image, like it was expecting me to add text to the right”.

Of course, since the image was left-aligned (which means text-wrapping was asked for). And the multiple empty paragraphs were added by you trying to move the cursor below the image. If you want left-aligned images with no text-wrap, you must set their alignment to none, not left.

    Hi panaghiotisadam,

Thank you so much for this. I am really angry at myself for not seeing this. I have now made the edits and all is good. All the other images that were previously inserted were Left Aligned, so not sure why it was only happening now, but glad you have told me what was doing it.

    Richard
