The ability of someone else to edit a comment on my VERIFIED PROFILE

Firstly, this appalling practice goes against the time-honoured principle in journalism of the “right of reply”.
You don’t allow anyone who registers to post code on your sites, because you are afraid that it is malicious, but when it comes to trusting them with my VERIFIED PROFILE that is linked to my PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP (which gives me my license to practice, without which it would be illegal for me to do my job) that can COST ME MY ABILITY TO PROVIDE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, then all of a sudden everyone is well-intentioned?
Quite simply, a simple accept / reject function when it comes to comments, gives a site owner full control over what is published on their site. There is no indication that a comment was even edited! Which means that this is the perfect tool for smear campaigns and character assassinations.Secondly, the WordPress Terms of Service requires me to notify you of any threat to the security of my ACCOUNT. My Gravatar profile, which was used to comment on hundreds of blogs before becoming aware (or before I ought to have become reasonably aware) is linked to my ACCOUNT, the activities of which your Terms says I am fully responsible for. Consider yourself officially notified that WordPress itself has compromised the security of my ACCOUNT. You are also compromising the security of any Twitter, Facebook and Google+ accounts. You are hereby notified. I hereby distance myself from any and all comments made on other WordPress websites using my Gravatar profile.
Thirdly, anything I write ANYWHERE is copyrighted. All Rights Reserved. Modifications of any nature to my work without my explicit consent is strictly prohibited.
Fair use does not apply, because that means quoting me and then giving commentary – it gives no one the right to impersonate me, especially not using my VERIFIED PROFILE. Which is a crime by the way.
Having been encouraged during Blogging U courses (with NO warning whatsoever at ANY point regarding the potential consequences) to comment on various sites (numerous tasks have been dedicated to this), I have in good faith, left content-related discussions on many.
Should I become aware that any of my comments have been edited in any manner, I will reserve any right granted to me (if any) by copyright law and file take-down notices for infringement of copyright as appropriate. I also reserve the right to recover any damages from the offending party, as appropriate, including damage to my professional reputation and loss of income, if applicable. The argument that most other publishing platforms allow for the same, is incredibly sad. WordPress powers 33 million blogs worldwide and generates 14 billion page views per month (at least per your documentation which I read). You are supposed to be the leader in innovation, user experience and user security! There is no excuse for lagging behind the pack.
WordPress is a brilliant platform and, as such I have actively promoted, recommended, defended and used it, however, this is something that cannot be overlooked under any circumstance.

Dear Raincoaster,
I am afraid that this is the summary version and that I may have more success translating it into Latin than into “English” in less than 1500 words. I have included a link, which explains this concern in extensive step-by-step, simple detail. Actually, you may even call it illustrated… :) It’s fun too, you get to play Where-Is-Waldo…

I cannot make it any clearer than a screen shot with a big, red arrow pointed at the problem. Which I have already directed you to. Site owners are able to edit the comments of others made using their Gravatar or other verified profiles.
I will enter into no further correspondence with this with you, unless you are able to clearly demonstrate that you have made a good-faith attempt at reading the material I provided. I have no time or patience for trolls.

Okay, no. I won’t bother reading that screed. Enjoy solving your nebulous problem yourself thanks to your abusiveness.
