The ‘account owner’ is no longer with our company

Hello, we’re trying to update the payment method for our site, since the old card is expired and won’t be able to auto-renew in October when the next payment is due. However, when I go to update the information, I get the following message: ‘This product was purchased by a different WordPress.com account. To manage this product, log in to that account or contact the account owner.’
This message appears both when I’m logged in our company email and my personal email, which leads me to believe that the ‘account owner’ is a person who is no longer with our company, but who set up the site years ago.
If I update the payment method on the company account, which should be the main account, will it auto-renew with that card when the other one doesn’t work? Or is there a way to remove the email address of our former employee as the account owner and make our company email the account owner?WP.com: Yes

If you go to your team’s page that shows all the users on the site, the account that made the purchase was Jacob.
If that’s the same person who is no longer with the company, your best bet would be to reach out to them and ask them to log in here at WordPress.com and post a reply to this thread asking us to move the legacy domain connection upgrade to your
baconsalepodcastuser account. Unfortunately, if this legacy upgrade expires, you wouldn’t be able to repurchase it as we no longer offer the ability to set a custom domain without a paid plan.Additionally, as long as there’s a paid upgrade tied to a user account, they cannot be removed from the site. It looks like a premium theme (Promenade) was purchased under their account in 2014 for this site, so we would also need to move that to a different account if that account needs to be removed.
Your alternative is to purchase a paid plan for the site now and we can set the existing upgrade to not renew.
