The "Add Media" button no longer words, et al

I am using Firefox 24.0. I am trying to add a new post in my fstopfantasy.wordpress.com photo blog.
First, I uploaded a photo to the Media Library, although I had a hard time getting it to display there after I uploaded it.
Next, I typed in some text, then clicked on the “Add Media” button, and it indented like it was going to do something, but it didn’t. Nada. It just sat there. I tried several times.
Thirdly, I went to this forum and looked up and found a dozen or more similar problems, all of them closed to comments, with none of them providing an answer, and most of them not even having been responded to.
Previously, I’ve had no problems uploading and adding media to my blog. I don’t know what’s happened, but I know that I haven’t done anything differently.
Also, that little white balloon that tells me someone has commented, liked or followed my blog, doesn’t work and hasn’t for a long time. I click on it and nothing happens. It doesn’t even depress like the “Add Media” button did. I entered a post in this forum about it, but I was unable to get a fix from it.
What happened to the Draft Posts. Previously, if I hadn’t finished a post, it would go in there and I could call it up to finish it later on. Or I could go into the Media Library and Attach a photo to a post in the Draft category.
Now I click on attach and a box comes up with the last bunch of posts listed, but not the one I’m working on, even though it’s open. When I click on the Close button, nothing happens. It also depresses like it’s trying to do something. However, if I click outside the box, then it will disappear.
What has happened to WordPress? If it ain’t broke, please don’t fix it. Now it’s broke; please DO fix it.
I’m dead in the water with my photo blog because its entire life is dependent on that “Add Media” button. Thanks.

1) Never, ever use the New Post button on the grey admin bar. It doesn’t save drafts at all.
2) Surely in those other threads you saw us ask what browser and version people were using. So, what browser and version are you using?

The first sentence of my initial post said I was using Firefox 24.0. By the way, the “Add Media” wasn’t working with my previous Firefox either.
I’m not sure what you are referring to when you talk about the gray admin bar. Are you talking about the “New Post” button on that little black strip across the top of the page? If so, I never use that.
When I do a new post, I click on the “Posts” selection on the left side of the screen, then select “Add New”. That is what I’ve always done. Only now, I am taken to the listing of all my posts with another “Add New” button to the right of the Posts header. So, now I have to click on Add New again. That took me to a new post, in which I added a title and a line of text. That’s when I ran into the the problem with the “Add Media” button.
By the way, I figured out why the little white comment bubble at in that little black bar at the top of the page didn’t work and it now does.
