The Anti-Social Blog
-
I want a simple blog that I can share with say, 50 or 60 friends in the US and Japan. I’m not interested in having hundreds people I don’t know have access to what I consider a personal blog. Is there a way for me to have a blog on Word Press where I can invite a select group of people to comment on my posts? This is not a editor, contributor type of poster. I just don’t want the whole world to be able to see it.
Is WordPress the place for that kind of blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can have a blog with the visibility set to private.
You can have up to 35 users free of charge on a private blog.
If you require more than you can purchase an annually renewable Unlimited Private Users upgrade.
user roles
adding users
Note that the weakest link when it comes to remaining private is your users. If just one of them posts a link anywhere on the internet to your blog — your cover will be gone. Those using the links will not be able to read content — they will know the blog exists and what the URL is. -
You can choose privacy settings for your blog:

2. Public but not indexed by search engines.
3. Private and only visible to those you invite to view it.The third option allows you to invite up to 35 viewers, but there is an upgrade so you can invite more people:
