The best way to approach a music data/sales site?

    Hello,

    I’m VERY new to all this WordPress thing, so I have a few questions.

    The idea:

    I have an idea to make a msuic data site that will contain sales of every artist (singles and albums).

    Every artist will have page, that includs a singles and albums section, that other users and I will be able to add (singles/albums). But I will just have to approve the suggestion (edits) as an admin.

    We will need to insert Spotify streams (from a Spotify link), Youtube views (from Youtube video) and Digital sales (Manually). All these three categories will be calculated with a simple equation to create a sale unit. The sales units will be presented according to the songs/albums in a table on the artist page.

    The sales units should be updated every day automatically with the given Spotify link/Youtube video).

    But the thing is, that I don’t know how to start making this kind of a system, if it’s even possible.

    So my question is .. how do I start creating this idea and bringing it to life?

    Pages (or categories) won’t be a problem. Embedding streams and videos is doable, too, and there are plugins for setting up a wiki for public input, or if you’ll have a small community you can use roles to determine who can post what: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/

    I don’t know if there are existing plugins to get sales data from a spotify/youtube link, or whether Youtube and Spotify supply that info via any APIs. If you are a developer you can look into that, or you can hire a developer to check it out. We currently recommend Codable if you’re trying to hire someone.
