The best way to get my domain and hosting with a rare extension?

  Hi

  I wanted to buy my domain and hosting through wordpress but when i looked into it i noticed they dont have my countries extension.
  I live in Finland and i definately want the

  .fi

  I was thinking the best option might be to buy the domain seperately and then the hosting through one of the wordpress prefered hosting companies.

  Can anyone tell me if this is possible or any other solutions?

  Yes you can purchase the domain name separately and then purchase a domain mapping upgrade from WordPress.com. Then you can follow these instructions to map that existing domain to your blog.
