  They are awful. I have tried, persevered but NOPE! turn them off. It was not a change that was needed.

  Hi there,

  The block editor was launched as the editor in the open source WordPress software, made by the community on WordPress.org, when version 5.0 was released in December 2018. We use that same software on WordPress.com, so that is also the editor that is available here.

  There is no way to switch off the block editor, and it is not going away unless the WordPress.org community decides to undo all their work of the past five or so years.

  If you prefer the feel of the classic editor, you can use the classic block instead:

  I dont have the widgets that are shown on the instruction video! I have just realised! After all this time I have been using my own work arounds!

  ie., there is no classic editor choice. There is no paragraph widget.

  What is the address of the site you’re working on and what exactly do you see on your end? It would be great if you could share a screenshot. You can use an online tool for that (such as https://snipboard.io/) and paste the link into your reply.

  The Classic Editor is not available anymore, as @kokkieh explained above. You can use the Classic Block, though:

  There is no paragraph widget.

  Did you mean Paragraph Block? This is a block that’s added by default as soon as you start writing. You create new paragraphs by pressing enter. Here’s more information about that:

  yes, that is what I mean. I do not have the option to choose a paragraph block on this widgets
  i have screen prints. how can I get them onto this topic

  I see a message ‘block pattern inserted’ appear but then it isn’t on the widgets to add a block. What am I missing?
