The blocks make EVERYTHING more time consuming and difficult

  • Unknown's avatar

The blocks treat each paragraph like a separate thing. I want my posts to be like document in which I collect information on the subject I’m writing out. Why would I want each paragraph to be a separate thing? Your blocks scheme makes everything so much MORE difficult.

And I don’t have time for this! I just want to do my work not have to figure out how to use your idiot block thing. I hate it. I’m going to have to hire someone now. Damnit.

My blog is set up to collect information so I often go back and update posts to add info I’ve found. That’s much more difficult with the blocks. It was so nice and easy to do the way it was. What if I want my posts to function like documents? The new arrangement makes that much more difficult.

PS: The ‘Happiness Engineer’ biz is BS. There are no Happiness Engineers. Ask in the Forum’ doesn’t solve my problem. Blocks is my problem. What am I going to do? WordPress is ruining my blog.

  • Hi there,

If you want to keep each paragraph into one block, you will just need to hold shift when you click enter/return. It will not automatically create a new block when holding the shift button.

Alternately, you can still use the features of the classic editor by adding the classic editor block:

    https://wordpress.com/support/editors/#classic-editor

That block will act just like the classic editor and function like the document that you described.

    Hope this helps.
