The blog name I want is taken but their site is deleted. Can I have it???

  I would like the blog name ‘beautyforashes.wordpress.com’ but it’s ‘taken.’ However I looked it up to check out their blog and it says that site no longer exists because the user deleted it. If it’s no longer being used, why can’t I have it??? Thank you!

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
