the body text fonts changed
-
Please tell me how can I get my body text Gateway theme fonts back. They are not at all the same ones as the ones in the template, they are very smaller also, and I m afraid I m doing an editing error or something…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To me, the text font and size look the same on your site as on the Gateway demo. Have you altered the zoom settings recently and forgotten to reset them?
-
No, there are no changes to the zoom settings in my computer. I ask some friends and they see the font the same as I do: to small and a different type of font.
-
What kind of device are you and your friends using to view the site? I’m on a desktop PC.
-
It is not relevant, I think, what kind of device me and my friends are using and this is why: because, on the same device I can t see the right fonts on my site, the template demo is very well visible with its beautiful fonts.

Thanks. You may call for staff attention by adding a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this forum topic.

Hi Dana,
I just took a look and can confirm that the site demo and your site are both using the same font, Quattrocento. Why you are seeing some variation on your site is that the font does not support all Romanian Characters so theses are being replaced with your device default.
You can see all supported characters of in the Google Fonts page here:
https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Quattrocento -
And if I edit with theese fonts from this link, which I can not do right now, they will appear all the time as in the demo? You know, only the fonts that are replaced does not support the romanian characters. After few hours I will be able to send you a print screen from my android tablet to see this. There is this only device that see the fonts corectly.
-
Sorry, I ve made a mistake. I mean “only the fonts that replaces the originals does not support the romanian characters”
-
That is correct, since the Romanian characters are not supported in the theme’s font these characters are being replaced with the system default. It’s possible on the Aandroid tablet the system font looks closer to the demo.
You have a couple of options:
– Change themes to one that has a default font that supports Romanian characters
– Upgrade your site to add Custom Design to change the font to one that does support Romanian characters. -
1) The theme’s characters are very well supported in the theme’s font, as I could see in the my site first day. But the same romanian characters are not supported in the other (the smaller and changed after one day one) font. And, as I already said, the site looked exacly the same as the demo in the first day and it has changed, as I said in the title. I could see this on the same laptop, with the same system defaults.
2) Not only the romanian characters are replaced, but the whole font and its dimension also, which became very small, and this, as I already said, after one day. In the first day everything looked exactly like the demo with a perfect match of the romanian charcters. The change was visible on the same laptop, with the same system defaults, as I already said.
Thak you, anyhow.

Hi Dana,
Unfortunately we were unable to replicate what you described. I checked with someone from our Theme’s team who was also unable to see the fonts being render differently than the demo.
Can you please upload a screenshot of what you are seeing either to your site’s Media Library or to a file sharing service? If you could also confirm you are seeing the problem on Windows 7 Chrome 43 that would be great.
You may also wish to try another browser and/or clear your browser’s cookies and cache.

Hi bdukes,
First, I can t see the demo on my laptop as I used to few days ago, but I was able to grab some screenshots from my tablet.
Look, here is the way I see the demo on my computer:here is the way I see the demo on my tablet:
here is my site on the laptop:
and on my tablet:
For the rest, unfortunately I have no time right now, but tonight I will. The cache memory was cleared few days ago.

Thanks Dana,
From your screenshots those help a lot. From looking at the screenshots I do see the same font is being used on both the demo and your website on the desktop.
On your tablet the browser is not loading the custom font Quattrocento which is being replaced with one of device’s serif fonts.
I’m also not going seeing a font size different.
-
Thank you bdukes, this is really relelvant.
Now let me recompose the facts for more clarity. First I see the theme Gateway in the way you can see in the picture on my tablet with those serif font. In the first day and maybe another one or two days, I can t remember, my blog loaded that serif font as well as the demo, wich ment normality for me. When I have seen the changes into Quattrocento I was alarmed and I hurried to compare with the demo page. The demo still looks as I knew, because the page still loaded serif. This was the situation in wich I said the two – my page and demo – are different. Well, they really were. But in time this changed and when you asked me for a sceenshot, I have seen the demo with Quattrocento font. I have seen first the serif and I liked it, so the Quattrocento version was something I did not choose. This is: understanding does not make us happy, but calms us. -
Hi Dana,
Glad we got to the bottom of this. I did look at the theme’s changelog (which shows all recent changes) and did not see any changes that would relate to the font change on our end at least not since it was released. It is possible that you were loading an extremely old version or had a cache problem on your end.
If you do want to use another font than Quattrocento you could upgrade to a plan which contains the Custom Design Upgrade.
