The category that won’t die

When I was new to wordpress, I unintentionally created a category named “1.” Although I have deleted it at least 12 times, it returns every time. Worse, it seems to be the default category. There are no posts attached to it. How do I get rid of it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Set a different category as the default at settings > writing. Then you should be able to delete it and it will stay gone.
