The ‘classic’ block in your new editor is broken
-
The new paragraphs in the classic block disappear, and all the text becomes one block. Please fix it, it’s making it really difficult to use wordpress.
On your new editor: all I want is a blank page to type in, and your new editor makes that absolutely impossible. I want all my content to be in one box, not multiple boxes; I want to be able to dart easily between my paragraphs, and I want to copy and paste the entire body of text. I don’t want to have boxes interfering with my keyboard flow. If you have users that like this, fine, but at least make the classic editor usable.

Hi there,
You should be able to accomplish most of what you describe above through the classic block. However, I would love to take a look at the issue you are having with the block.
I see that you have several sites under your account – are you having this issue no matter the site or is there a specific site you are having trouble with? If there is a particular post or page where this is occurring, please provide a URL to that page, and we’ll be happy to take a look.
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Could you try on your own site to create a classic block, type a post as you normally would in the block (with paragraphs in the same block), and then preview or publish the post? That should replicate the issue.

Hi there,
I’m not able to replicate this. I inserted a Classic block and create three paragraphs. Even after I previewed, saved as a draft, and published that post all three paragraphs remained inside the Classic block.
Can you please create a post on one of your sites so I can have a look?
Also, you can provide us with some screenshots. You upload those to your Media Library and we’ll be able to see them.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply again. I have figured out how to replicate the issue, and you’re right that simply having new paragraphs in the classic editor will work fine, which is great news for me.
What happened when I wrote my last post was this: I tried using the blocks editor at first, but found it unpleasant to manipulate multiple blocks, so I copied and pasted multiple blocks into a single “classic” block, and that caused the issue I complained about to happen. I’ve uploaded two pictures into my media library in melodystaysachild, I’m not sure how to paste the pictures if they’re not on a post — is there a public link to users’ media libraries?
Anyway, given that I’ve identified the cause of the issue, I will be sure not to do that again, and instead just edit exclusively in the classic block. I understand if there’s no urgent need to fix this too.

Ah yes, the Classic Block can only handle content created in the Classic Block.
It cannot handle content pasted from other blocks.
