The 'Contact' page

I notice that when I go on my contact page and set up a basic contact and message block, my own email address and website comes up and stays on it. Forgive me if I’m being stupid here, but isn’t this where OTHER people put their details (email etc) or am I missing something here? I would hardly send emails to myself. :) If someone could advise, I would appreciate it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi Steve

You are seeing your email address in the form, because you are logged into WordPress and it pre-populates that content for you. I just took a look at your site, and because I am logged in to WordPress, it fills in my information.

If you log out of WordPress and take a look at your contact page, you’ll find the boxes are empty. Anyone can fill out the form (they do not have to have a WordPress account), and that’s when they will type in their own contact information.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks ever so much for getting back to me. I must admit I’m struggling with various aspects of setting up my page; its all new to me. I will probably be asking some more questions before too long. :-)
