The difference between Business plan and the eCommerce plan

    Hi,
There were a few questions about these two plans.
For the payment gateway, if I use the business plan, my customer can use PayPal to checkout?
I was also very interested in the eCommerce plan about the ‘Accept Payments in 60+ Countries’. Does this mean it accepts multi-currency?
Please help us out, thank you.

  • Hi there,

The Business and eCommerce plans are essentially the same thing – both allow you to install plugins, and you can use any payment processing service as long as they have a WordPress plugin to integrate that with your site. Which currencies you can receive payments in would depend on the currencies your chosen payment processor, and payment gateway plugin, supports.

What makes the eCommerce plan different is that it comes with WooCommerce, the Storefront theme, several payment gateway plugins (including PayPal and Stripe) and some premium WooCommerce add-ons pre-installed. So that plan is specifically tailored to someone looking to set up a WooCommerce online store.

You’d be able to install exactly the same plugins included in that plan on the Business Plan, but it would work out a bit more expensive if you were to buy the premium add-ons included in eCommerce separately, directly from WooCommerce.com.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.
