The DNS Manager has not emailed me the authorization code to transfer my domain
-
Hi,
I am trying to transfer my domain registration from WordPress.com to GoDaddy. I am at the step where I need to request the authorization code from WordPress’s domain manager. I have logged in, requested the code, but no email has appeared. It has been about 30 minutes. I tried to have one resent, but nothing came through once again. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – you have to remove the private registration from your domain before you can transfer it. You can do this by clicking “Cancel Private Registration” in Store->My Upgrades, or I can remove it for you with your permission.

I removed the private registration as the first step in my process. I followed the link you provided, and if I click on it I get the message, “Your DNS is not protected by…”. That is not the problem. If you would like to try and cancel the private registration, just to make sure, I give you my permission.

Hi there- I’m sorry, you’re right. It was still showing as privately registered on our end, for some reason, but I see your information is visible in WhoIs. Can you please double-check your junk/spam folder just to make sure email did not go in there?
Please let me know if it’s not there.

I just re-checked my spam and there is no email there. I have definitely been receiving other emails on that account while I’ve been waiting for the code from the DNS manager.
-
I just emailed it to you once more – can you please let me know if you don’t get it? If this still doesn’t work, I will email our registrar right away.

Hi, I still haven’t gotten it. I checked through my spam and trash folders again just in case.

I’m very concerned this hasn’t been resolved. My domain happens to expire tomorrow. I’ve paid hostgator. Am I going to need to renew through WordPress too?
-
You did not receive my email? I think what’s happening in that case is that your email client is filtering emails from @wordpress.com.
I have created an “exportable list” for you that has the authorization code. To get it, please log into your Domain Manager (you’ll have to save a new password, since I resaved one to log in there), and then click the “More” button above your domain. Choose “Manage Exportable Lists” and you’ll see a list titled “Auth Code.” Click the green button to download. You can open this file in Notepad.
Please let me know if you have any trouble with this!

I was able to get the authorization code and initiate the transfer to go daddy. I have one more question. My domain expires tomorrow? Do I need to renew the domain through wordpress (in case the transfer takes a few days?). Go Daddy customer support thought it would probably be fine on their end, but recommended I ask wordpress support. Thank you so much for all your help.

I accepted the pending transfer for you (for future reference, you could have used the instructions included in “Confirmation of Registrar Transfer Request” to “accept” rather than “decline” the pending transfer).
You should get the confirmation in about 30 minutes that the transfer went through. If it does not, please let me know!
