The dropdown menus on our blog disappeared

  So remember, if you want to activate that custom menu, all of the child and grandchild pages have to be added and nested properly below the top-level items in order to have it display as drop-down menus. It’s a lot of work if you’ve many pages. The advantages of the custom menu include the ability to add items of all kinds: static pages, posts, archives pages (categories, tags), projects, external links, keyword search results, etc.
