The Edit button does not work anymore

On the “Edit Posts” page, each one of my posts has a line, which, when my cursor flies over it, gets four little buttons right underneath it. The leftmost button is namned “Edit”, and I use it when I want to alter something in an already published post.
After five months and 300 published posts, I am suddenly in the situation where the “Edit” button does not work any longer. Not for any of my posts. I must have done something wrong to get into this pickle. But I do not know that I have done anything different or new. Could you feel pity for me and give me a word about what to try?
