I see this message, ‘The editor has encountered an unexpected error’, when I try to edit any page. Does it have to do with Gutenberg ? Please help.

If this is why I encounter the problem, how can I fix it if I can’t edit any page?

Hi there, the “modlook” tag is a tag added when volunteers can’t really help with the issue your facing. It alerts the WordPress.com staff who will then review this thread when they can, and hopefully offer a solution to fix the problem for you. :)

Meanwhile, I tried to deactivate Gutenberg, and the error message didn’t pop-up.
Hope this issue can be fixed because I think Gutenberg is good. -

Each page has sub-pages. However, I encounter this problem when I try to edit any page using Gutenberg.

Hi, just checking whether this site is hosted here at WordPress.com. It seems there’s a conflict with Yoast:
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/9556But, as you don’t have a business plan on the site you listed, you couldn’t have Yoast installed.
Can you please confirm whether you’re referring to the site hosted here with us, or whether you’re referring to a self-hosted installation elsewhere?

Hi there,
What exactly are you trying to do when you get that error? I’m able to load that link and edit the post just fine without any errors, so need to know the exact steps you’re following that’s causing the error, so I can try and replicate it on my end.
Does it make any difference if, at https://kalekhnawy.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page, you use the Classic Editor link rather than the Edit link?
Do you see any errors if you create a completely new page?
Can you also please check if clearing your browser cache or using a completely different browser makes any difference?

I used different browsers, and the error appears when I use Gutenberg to edit my page. First, the problem didn’t pop-up, but I guess it started to pop-up with all browsers when I was exploring the “CSS advanced class” option.
I have a screen shot of the error, but there is no option here to add it as an attachment. Anyways, here is the error message:

As in simply when you open the editor? I don’t see any errors when trying to open the Gutenberg editor on any page on your site.
You can upload a screen shot to your media library at My Site ->Media or WP-Admin ->Media, and I’ll be able to see it there.

This should be fixed now, though you might have to clear your browser cache for it to take effect.

It’s fine now. Thank you very much.
My other issue is related to Arabic script from right to left, i.e. when I insert or paste a paragraph, the system is not fully compatible. For example, a dot at the end of the paragraph is not placed in the right word order. So far, I delete it to avoid any confusion in the context.
Your assistance is much appreciated.
